I am just a girl with a crazy past, defined not by the choices I have made, but defined by the grace of God. I have been changed and made new by Him to live in freedom and newness.
Don’t allow darkness to keep you distracted on your could have, would have, should haves, if only, and I wishes. Because if you let it, it will keep you from being in the present, and will prevent you from being your best self. So. Be. Present.
Leave the past alone. If people fall out of your life, don’t chase them. Be grateful for what you have. Don’t run ahead or look behind. Just be willing to allow God to work through you. Expect Him to lead the way, be in charge, and to be what He is: A creative, loving, graceful Father that teaches us along the way.
We just have to show up as we are, brokenness and all, and be willing to trust and obey. We don’t have to have all the answers to why. We won’t always be able to see the lesson in the trial. If the lesson is not revealed and you can’t find the why then surrender to God and focus on being useful in other ways. Pray for people. Pray for yourself. Praise God in all moments to protect yourself from the darkness and its distractions.
For I am just a girl with a crazy past, and you too can be just a person with a crazy past, don’t let the darkness use it against you. Rise up, and allow yourself to be defined by the grace of God. Seek it and you will find it.
